Just a little background info on yours truly...
Name: Naomi, but online I go by Squeezil.
Age: 19
Location: Portland, OR (USA)
Interests/Favorites:
- Music: I like to think I have a pretty eclectic taste in music, the genres I listen to range from Rock to Showtunes, from Electronica to Classical and, well you get the point. Some of my all-time favorite artists/bands are David Cook, Green Day (pre-American Idiot), Shinedown, Rascal Flatts, The Beatles, Flogging Molly, and Tsunami Bomb. My favorite classical composer is Ludwig Van Beethoven. I LOVE musical theater...Hairspray and Fiddler on the Roof are some of my favorites.
- Books: I love to read, I can literally spend hours in a good bookstore. My favorite author is Marc Acito, though I also enjoy David Sedaris. My favorite books so far are How I Paid For College: A Novel of Sex, Theft, Friendship, and Musical Theater by Marc Acito, Harpo Speaks! by Arthur "Harpo" Marx with Rowland Barber, and last but certainly not least, Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen. My favorite poet is E.E.Cummings, I also enjoy Charles Bukowski and Edgar Allen Poe.
- T.V./Movies: My favorite T.V. shows currently are House M.D., Ace of Cakes, The Soup, Mythbusters, Good Eats, and on occasion Food Network Challenge. I have a myriad of favorite movies so it's hard to keep track of them all, the ones that come to mind right now are Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Memoirs of a Geisha, Hidalgo, Dead Poets Society, The Sandlot, the original Star Wars trilogy, Rear Window, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Ten Things I Hate About You, Much Ado About Nothing (the Kenneth Branagh version), Death To Smoochy, The Princess Bride, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, Johnny Dangerously, Monty Python and the Holy grail...etc. Oh, and numerous Hayo Miyazaki films and Disney animated films.
- General: My friends & family, cooking/baking, nature/wildlife photography, pastry work (sugar work, chocolatiering, cake decorating, etc.), dolling, literature (primarily poetry and a bit of fiction as well), music/singing, etc.
I'm generally a shy person until you get to know me, although there have been times when I've been pretty outgoing around perfect strangers *coughconcertscough*. I like to think I'm pretty reserved most of the time though. I'm a HUGE dork. Some people might think calling yourself a dork is a form of self-deprecation, but I'm actually pretty proud of the fact. I try to be as honest as possible, I can't stand people who lie. I love to learn new things, when I was little I used to say that I wanted to know everything in the universe...obviously my goals have changed.
I plan on going to school for my Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Photography starting next year, and I hope to become a photojournalist or something similar.
